About Us

Empowering Voters. Defending Democracy.

We proudly carry on the League of Women Voters' century-long commitment to perfecting democracy -- right here in our area, five counties of the Central Texas Hill Country. And like those who came before us, we believe in the power of women to create a more perfect democracy.

What we stand for

The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.

We envision a democracy where every person has the desire, the right, the knowledge and the confidence to participate. We believe in the power of women to create a more perfect democracy.

The League of Women Voters - Hill Country Texas pursues this vision, mission and value in five counties of central Texas, in alignment with the League of Women Voters of Texas and the League of Women Voters of the United States.

Diversity. Equity. Inclusion.

LWV is an organization fully committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in principle and in practice. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are central to the organization’s current and future success in engaging all individuals, households, communities, and policy makers in creating a more perfect democracy.
